does anyone know what those chips in the movie are called? i remember having them over my friend's house and ive been trying to find out how to make them ever since.

You can buy them dried; you just deep-fat fry them in oil and they "pop" up into crackers. I suspect that making them from scratch is a little more involved than it's really worth (since you can buy a small box --> puffs into huge mound for a buck or so).
Prawn/shrimp is used interchangeably, I guess "prawn" sounds a little higher class tham "shrimp."
You can buy them at most Chinatown supermarkets; especially around Chinese New Year's.

I wonder why the different colours though? It's tempting to assume it's just food colouring to make them look nice, but Jesicca says she prefers the blue ones, so presumably they taste different? The ones I've had have always just been white
I think she preferred the blue ones cos blue is her favourite colour, well thats what she said anyway. All are white in the UK.
