the stick fighting scene

i was watching Best of the Best 4 tonight, starring phillip rhee, and to my surprise, towards the end of the movie, there was a scene i thought was really familiar. rhee was being chased by bad guys, he ran into this room, and closed it quietly, he turned around to face the room, and BAM, there were bunch of dudes practicing stick martial arts. he got this "goddammit" look on his face, took a chair to block the door, and preceded to kick some ass. i thought to myself, WHAT A RIP OFF!! i can't believe he stole that from KOD. well, i went on imdb to see what the deal is, and found out best of the best released in 1998 and kod was released in 2001. KOD version was way better, but i just thought some of you guys might want to know.

Check out one of Bruce Lee's early films when he fights against the racism between chinese and japanese. Just like Jet's and I believe it was a homage to Lee's.

I enjoyed jet li as the good cop who lives only for his job and Fonda as the hooker with the heart of gold. Good fight sequences and the crooked frog cop is decent to watch.
What about Jeff Wincott stick fighting in ‘mission of justice’?

The stick fighting scene was supposed to be Bruce Lee esque, it was even going to be hand to hand as well (check Bruce Lee's movie Fist of Fury.) But they decided it'd be more creative with the weapons. I think that was the last scene Jet filmed was that stick scene. In a documentary they showed Jet and everyone in the room smiling at the camera like the movie was done, but perhaps that was just the celebration that a hard scene was completed.

Also someone said the part where the stick fighting is incredibly intense, is based off of the action director's other movies where he does the same exact thing.

When I saw the scene, it just came back to memory, Fist of Fury with Bruce lee, its almost a copycat of the scene!! Both in black dress,chinese,kung-fu against karate, slowly preparing, even the battle starts with an order of Sensei, in Jet Li the Sensei says: fight! in the Bruce, he says: Surround Him!
I put my hands of fire for this one, I bet that its an homage!!

Allways do it with an Architect
