The twin
What style did the twin used against Jet Li. It looks like tae kwon do. Does anyone have an idea what style he used?

shareCyril Raffaelli is the smaller twin who trained in many types of martial arts in real life. In this movie, if I'm not wrong then Id say hes using simply kickboxing against Jet Li.
shareI was wondering about this. with all the kicks the twins used I supposed it was Tae Kwon Do as well.
shareYeah I'd say kickboxing for Cyril, definetly more on the kick side than the boxing though, since Jet got the upper hand when they were near those desks and in close range. As for the large twin, the way he draws his hand back and shouts, and just his enitre delivery leads me to think he was doing some form of Karate.
shareKickboxing ? dont think so, doesnt have as much kick combination as they only did in the movie, its TKD to my view.
shareCyril Raffaelli
has only trained in shotokan karate and wushu
It was definitely Tae-Kwon-Do. The giveaway was the constant switching of the legs before he threw a kick. That is the most common technique used in Tae-Kwon-Do tournments to keep the opponent guessing on how to counter. The arm and leg blocks he used were also typical Tae-Kwon-Do blocks, and NOT "kickboxing" techniques of any kind.....
shareIt wasnt any ONE specific style intended. The action director decides the moves not the talent.
sharetae kwan do
last film i saw: Kiss of the Dragon 7/10/08
Tae Kwan Do.
shareI was actually thinking Savate, considering the fact that they're in France and Savate is a French leg-fighting art. But I'm not a martial arts expert, so I could be wrong.
shareA year late.
I was thinking the same thing but I know Taekwondo and the way he was fighting looks more like Taekwondo than it does Savate but Savate also derives the leg shuffling and side kick taken from the same parenthood as Taekwondo which is Subak.
It really could be either of these two. About Kickboxing, the first Kickboxers in history were Taekwondo and Karate fighters(Joe Lewis(JKD) vs Greg Baines(SKK) were the first western kickboxers) so many Kickboxing gyms will teach Taekwondo techniques.
