can you freeze a gun....

and it will go undetected through an x-ray?

reply

Sure. Just ask for a Glocksickle.

reply

You should be arrested for that joke.

reply

He started it. :)

reply

I think you should be given an award for that joke. A Razzie perhaps...it's still an award.

reply

I thought he had a Makarov or something similar. I know it wasn't a Glock.

Nose?! That don't rhyme with walls!
No...but this does

reply

It wasn't a Glock and even if it was; that a Glock can be brought through airports undetected is popular fiction nothing more! I thought it was a sig sauer but then came across this http://www.oldrifles.com/Chinese-pistols.htm. I remember Johnnys had the star on the grip but it's quite an old weapon.

Awe Skinny you got blood all over my trousers. Jeez I'm real sorry Frank!

reply

Just looked on imfdb. It was a Chinese model of an FN Model 1900.

To clear the point, no, even a Glock will show up on x-ray. The bigger question, is can a polymer pistol be detected by a metal detector? Most gun guys will tell you that, if it is loaded (lots of brass and lead) then, no, the metal detector will pick these up. Most detectors nowadays would pick up the highly dense polymer material - whether metal or not. Remember, an x-ray sees the inner structure of what is being imaged. If you packaged the gun in a lead box, then the box may block the x-rays but airport security would likely require a manual inspection of something radiopaque of this size.

Whatever doesn't kill me only makes me stronger. How strong are you?

My question is this. If Jet Li is a cop being sent over to help the French, why did he have to hide the gun in the first place?

reply

He wasn't allow to carry a gun in France.

reply

Although that may be true, he doesn't even say he's coming for business but pleasure.
At the airport he completely hides his purpose, then at the hotel they have to meet in complete secrecy, but it's never explained why.. so strange since he's on official business there.

reply

so strange since he's on official business there.
Official is a matter of a signature on a form. He had no jurisdiction in France. His involvement as an observer/consultant would have been by way of special dispensation cleared at a higher level and under top secret administration, therefore he couldn't just announce to every Tom, Dick and Harry what business he was in France for.
