When did this show become fake?

I remember watching this years ago when it had a sleazy host, I think his name was Geko or something. I happened to see it again tonight and omg it is so clearly staged. Surely they must be able to find real people who are cheating, or maybe they can';t get anyone to sign the release form.

If only there was a website/app where you could look up the cast on this show. Then maybe you'd know who you were talking about. Now there's a business idea!

More than likely, it was fake from the very beginning. On "Inside Edition", they did a story during Joey Greco's first tenure as host where the "Cheaters" crew follow a couple onto a boat. In the ensuing fight, Greco gets "stabbed". The boat is brought back to land and Greco is loaded into an ambulance. The "IE" team finds the hospital where Greco is supposed to be taken. They ask about his condition only to be told that no one by the name "Joey Greco" has been admitted.

Whether fake or not...it's been questioned by many media sources...you do realize that the hospital is obliged to deny anyone's being there or not...right? It's called right to privacy laws, more recently HIPAA. Not to mention, the incident, when it happened or didn't happen, did not lead to his being 'admitted' to the hospital.

Information about the patient’s general condition and location of an inpatient, outpatient or emergency department patient may be released only if the inquiry specifically identifies the patient by name. https://www.haponline.org/Newsroom/Media/HIPAA-Guidelines Also, whether or not he was admitted as an inpatient, if he were truly injured he would have been admitted to the ER.

I don't know if it's fake or not, but I received a letter from the cheaters pi asking for info on the previous owners. The letter went into great detail about how the married woman had been spotted in various hotels with another man. Pretty strange, and I never did call them as I didn't have any additional info.

Yeah, it was actually the man who allegedly stabbed him and was "arrested." Inside Edition went to the Rowlett, Texas police station and asked about this person and they said no such person had ever been arrested. The lady that participated in this scenario said she was paid to appear and that none of it was real, including the blood they used for the stabbing.

Fake as ever.

I was watching one show and the "wife" was supposed to be crying but no tears were coming out and I was going "holy crap this woman is a terrible actress."

Sure enough she has a "credit" in the IMDB playing the woman who was the wife. I looked at her credits and it was crappy video shorts her friends made (anyone can get credits now in the IMDB, literally). There's a bunch of people now listed as other people in the credits.

Knowing his watching the show now I don't think 95% of them are real. There's a lot of bad acting. Notice how no one ever actually punches anyone?

And there are over 300 episodes. Do you think there are 300 couples cheating in Dallas who want it on TV?

One girl on Inside Edition said they tell everyone they'll give them a finder fee for recommending an actor or actress to appear on the show. It's also why Tommy Grand left.
