Remake of Rambo First Blood
This is a very good movie but the plot has pretty much been stolen from Rambo First Blood, updated for a Kosovo veteran instead of a Vietnam veteran, and made a little more psychotic.

shareI've been telling people this was a remake of FIRST BLOOD for years, but people just scratch their heads and say they cannot see any of the 7,364 similarities in plot. Nice call, my friend.
shareUnfortunately for you I must disagree. Rambo was about not being able to be reaccepted into society "Get a haircut and take a bath and you won't get hasseled so much." In addition to that, Rambo didn't directly kill a single character in the movie. Gaul fell. Hallam directly kills. In addition to that, hallam is actually tried to be killed by men in his own squad. Lastly, he was set up. If you read the script, you will see that.
That's because the First Blood movie was kinda puss*. Read David Morell's book, it's awesome. Example: at the beginning of the story, Rambo escapes from the precinct. In the movie he knocks out a couple of cops. In the book he disembowels them. Also, in the movie we never really know what's on Rambo's mind, whereas half the book is told from Rambo's point of view. The Hunted owes a lot more to the First Blood book than to the First Blood movie.
shareThis plot loosely is actually based off a expeirence Tom Brown Jr. It is documented in a book called Case Files of The Tracker. There are some diffrences, such as it happened in a diffrent country, The U.S goverment was not involved, and Tom Brown taught the men survival and scout skills, not how to kill. Tom Brown was never in the army and in fact only taught a few classes to sf. Also, Nails (Aaron Hallam) actually avoided Tom Brown when he was contacted. Many things in the movie refer to this, and even the knifes that Tom Brown designed appear in the film. However, the actuall thing happend in a desert area, and in the end, Tom was shot in the back due to negligence when tracking him.
shareI totally agree! Right after I watched it, I looked at my friend and we both went "Rambo"! Still a good flick though. Much more bloody than Rambo, and a little more modern.
share'The Hunted' has more similarities to the book 'First Blood' although still not nearly the same. In the book, Rambo kills mercilessly if he's pushed to do so. On a side not, Rambo's name isn't mentioned to much, he's known as The Kid.
shareThis isn't a Rambo remake. Rambo isn't an animal rights activist. This guy in the Hunted is. He killed 2 deer hunters as he is into saving the deer.
Animal rights activists consider meat to be murder of innocent animals.

Umm, I'm pretty sure he kills the hunters because he thinks they're going to kill him. He even tells them they don't look like they're hunting deer.
