Directors Cut?
If any movie in recent history ever cried out for a directors cut, it's The Hunted.
Has anyone heard anything about one coming out in the future?
Havent heard anything, but I am definitely curious.
Why does the film *cry out* for a director's cut? Was the version I have seen not the director's cut? Has Friedkin said anything about the film being tampered with against his wishes?
I dont know much about the history of the film, but I thought it was okay as it was, except for being too similar to The Fugitive.

The fugitive? whatchutalkinbout willis? um kindly point me to the one armed man character in the Hunted if u would.. While you are at it..as The del toro character isnt an innocent wrongly accused,,actually he's a guilty man ravaged by teh nightmares ofr it all,,wanting to confess so that a record will exist. Besides Tommy Lee Jones..how is this like teh Fugitive?

a certain scene where del toro leaps from a high place to escape jones, plunging into dangerous waters, the simple premise of tommy lee jones hunting someone, the tone of his character.
in all fairness, the differences you pointed out (lack of one-armed man, guilty man instead of innocent) are very minor differences. is that to say that if someone copied star wars and yoda was red and tall instead of green and short, you would say it wasnt a copy. it takes more than the lack of a one-armed man to hide the similarities from me.
maybe if another actor other than tommy lee jones was cast - as fine an actor as he is - i might not have noticed the similarities so plainly.

look at it this way..if someone asked u to give a synopsis of teh fugitive..u would have to mention the innocent man..falsly convicted on teh run would u not? thats hardly a small plot point..the yoda metaphor is rediculously not even close to the same thing. Have u even the movie? if anything at all it may stir memories of US Marshals..but thast a stretch as well.

simple fact is, while i was watching the hunted, i was thinking all the way through that i was watching the fugitive all over again.
no argument you could ever present can change that fact
