hmm - i thought this film was so bad i could barely sit through it - but agree with the first part of your statement, easily my favourite comedian. not only that but even when he's talking seriously(rarely i know) he is insightful and gets the best out of people and subjects...genius!!

I loved every moment when he got pissed
Especially when he found his brother having lucnh with Jerry Ryan, and he brings a fish like jesus to compare the wicked and the marine

"OH LOOK! IT'S STIL ALAIVE!!! THIS FISH HAS MORE DECENCY IN HIS A$$HOLE THAN YOU HAVE IN YOUR ENTIRE FAT BODY!!!"

His merried stumblings were funny, but his facial expressions were the high point of his performance. That scene where he casually slips the news to the ex that he's going to sue God. It's like in a moment of glee he's hopped up onto the edge of his little dingy and started to rock it just to watch his passenger flail around. And the previous scene where he's checking the books out of the library and he's got this can't wait for the mischievery to begin, but I better not let mum know look. He's a fifty year old boy who manages to skip through life after each stub of his toe, laughing at all those teachers who told him he'd never get anywhere in life if he didn't grow up.

Billy Connolly is hilarious in general. Just now during Conan O'Brien I nearly peed my pants when he started growling like a zombie.

Billy Connolly is pretty good outside of comedy roles. Just watched the Columbo episode he's in, he makes a good thug and murderer too.

And Hitman...in Boondock Saints.

And don't forget Mrs Brown

I wonder why he doesn't get offered or take on more roles. He's great in just about everything he's been in.
