who seriously loved this movie and even thought the plot wasnt bad

I love this movie and even thought the plot for what it was wasn't bad. A lot of other people actually agree with me. Who else agrees

I loved it. When I was doing wing chun me and a friend would occasionally mimic Jet's "The shortest distance between two points..." bit while we were stepping and punching. It ain't xingyi but screw it it was funny at the time :p

There's been LOADS worse movies than this that people slate a lot less. People are getting too fussy about movies I think, overthinking plot and overcritical of dialogue and consistancy. I think we're becoming the minority of people who can just enjoy a movie.

Kung fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene...

Yeah I'm a big fan of The One. It's probably my favorite "bad" movie. The dialogue is occasionally goofy, there are a few plot holes, and the pacing's sometimes rushed to get to the next action scene, but overall it created a pretty cool sci-fi idea that drives the story well. I would've loved to see a One Two someday :D

The problem is that alot of this movie was left on the cutting room floor.

Directors today are so concerned about time limits and how much time is in the movie and how much isn't, and this director cut TOO much, there were entire scenes that were great, that never made it to the theatrical release or the DVD. The Original cut was so much better, and I for one would love a remake of this movie, maybe even a trilogy to give this story the treatment it deserves.

I just want a Director's cut with the restored footage

I'm amazed this has such a low rating. One of my favourites in the martial arts genre, up there with Enter the Dragon and Ong Bak.

Also a sci-fi fan so this ticks all my boxes.

This is one of my favourite movies ...

I like what I like not what people say you should like

I agree, I love everything about this movie: The cast, plot, sci-fi aspect, soundtrack. I should have gotten a sequel, Lawless was still in pretty good shape when the movie ended.

A boat that floats on water can also sink in it.

@stephen-gaiber-57 I usually despise movies with too much action and no plot. Yet, I gave it a chance because of the sci-fi angle and it won me over completely because the GABE character had THREE dimensions.

The action was fun and the story wasn't so ridiculous that a plot-monkey like me couldn't sink my teeth into it.

Although I couldn't share this with Dad because he can't stand loud background music, I might just spring it on him one day!
