So does it just not count when extras die?

I'm find myself mildly irked by the insistence the movie has on the number of murders YuLaw committed as something like 124. In the first killing, besides his target he takes out several cops. Same thing in his next attempt. So if this was typical, he probably killed 500 people. But he's only tried for killing 124 and for breaking inter-dimensional travel laws. WTF?

I think you have a point there, they only comment on this 123 murders (actually it's 122 if there are 125 universes, he and Gabe are still alive and the first kill was in self-defense) with no mention of the deaths of "extras".

Maybe those were the only murders they could prove he did? Also, that happens in our court system. 1 murder is enough to give them life in prison or death, so there is no point in proving they did all of those others.

Killing one version of you probably wouldn't result in a noticeable difference.

The crime he was on trial for was subversion of the dimensional laws, not so much murder. It was the fact that he was violating protocol that he was on trial for.
