My whole family really enjoyed it this but I think it's probably because we're Irish and kind of identified Mrs. Connolly with a hundred other Mrs. Connolly's we have come across in our lifetime.

I sat patiently for 89 minutes waiting for a laugh in this "Dark comedy" as described in my TV guide.
Well, it was so 'dark' that it eclipsed the comedy completely.
The gags were lame. The Irish accent was atrocious. Lines were ripped off from other films but they weren't funny at all in this context. The plot holes were huge and the ending was such an anticlimax.
Anyone could see the cop had an interest here. No unbiased law enforcement officer will take one side over another so viciously. And the realtor would probably have been sued for non-disclosure of the upstairs tenant and her real reputation.
Any purchaser would have had a search done to determine exactly what they were buying, including a survey to check teh condition of pipes and other structural elements.
Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore must have been desperate for the cash.
They took the very worst deleted scenes from The Money Pit and Pacific Heights and made a dreadful, dreadful film.
Shame on you Larry Doyle. No wonder you haven't done anything since 2004...
