What about the cat?

Wahat happened to the cat? They made a point to show it several times at the begining of the movie, Sean even picks it up and carries it into the house. But after the shot out they never show it again and never mention it. So where did it go? If it was Sean Vetter's cat wouldn't he wonder where it was? And if it was his wife's cat wouldn't he want it to be safe to honnor her? If I ended up in the hospital I would want to know that somebody was taking care of my 4 cat and my dog. Mostly I wonder why they so often do this in movies. The charactors in the movie treat their pets like they are funriture not living creatures. As a pet owner I think that's wrong. And doesn't Vin have a dog? He should show more attention for these things.

I asked my wife about that when we were watching it. What was the reason for showing the cat? If the bad guys had gutted the cat and left it's entrails in the mail box, I would understand. But what's the point of it being in the movie if we never see it again. Maybe it was the director's cat or something. Maybe there will be a sequel, "A Cat Apart: Return of the Feline." Sean, your wife is dead..you have a cat that needs you..move on!

Now *there* is a truly brilliant suggestion! Who needs things like little niggling difficult to get right details? Who needs those little touches that make the difference between a piece of crap contractual obligation lowest common denominator appealing hollywood assembly line production and a real movie?
I wondered about the cat too, but I knew as soon as I saw it that it was there as a plot motivator; we could see what a caring, sensitive man Sean was by the fact that he picked the cat up & kissed it. After that, it had served it's purpose & therefore no further mention was required. I like the idea about the cat having a squel. [lol]
