Incontinuity mistake

Is it just me or does this movie contain an incontinuity mistake? At a certain point in the movie, Diesel is suspended from duty. In the next scene we see him have a chat with the big gangster in jail, who promises to help him find Diablo if Diesel returns the favour. Later we find out that it is Diesel who signed the transfer from the gangster to another jail, which results in his escape. How is it possible that a suspended officer can have such authority?

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the movie

yeah, good point - he was locked up in the FEDS anyway, but then again it was right after he lost his badge so he had some time to do it before his actual suspension went in the system

I was as confused as you were about the transfer. Come to find out, that in the deleted scenes from the movie, that Diesel takes the 18 wheel truck full of cocaine and delivers it to his boss. The boss is so grateful, and Diesel uses that opportunity to request that the "former" drug lord be transfered. Now I have yet to understand why that would be a deleted scene when it is so necessary to help the viewer understand what is going on!!

...without being a dick, it's "Continuity Mistake" not "Incontinuity mistake"

Now....where was I?
