Summary: Good god!!! somebody stop Vin Diesel!

Good god!!! How do i even start to explain how bad this is? If you have seen XXX you surely know what Vin, (and Hollywood for that matter) is capable of (thats _not_ a compliment for those of you without a brain). I honestly did not think it got any worse as far as swiss cheese plots and piss poor acting, but alas, Hollywood has set a new low (not suprisingly). I am sure when it finally comes out in the theatre they will just throw a few million at it with markenting strategies.

Well here we go -- Vin is a 'bad boy' cop that arrests the mexico concaine kingpin. Everything is fine then 'suprisingly enough' tragedy strikes and his wife is killed by masked gunman supposedly working for the kinpin he arrested. Yawn. Anwyay he is shot up and recovers to get revege. Sound familiar yet? Ok, well he gets real mad and with help from the kingpin, which has admitted he did not kill Vin's wife, he gets revenge. Fast forward through about 45 mins of violence and gunbattles...Eventually he makes a promise with the kinpin to set him free when he finds the killer, and he goes to mexico to find/kill "El Diablo" who put the hit out on his wife for some unknown reason. So he kills him. Insert 1 GENERIC, OVIOUS, plot twist (with reguards to the identity of 'El Diablo'), and thats 2 hours summed up, but that sad thing is your not missing anything at all, the movie is that transparent. And yes, we NEVER see the kingpin again with whom Vin has made the promise to set free. But thats ok because 95% of viewers are morons and dont care anyway, as long as we see gunbattles and violence.

I give this movie a 3 out of 10, and thats generous. The only reason why is that I didnt have to pay to see this tragedy, and even so I feel like someone owes me something for wasting 2 hrs of my life. Since Boiler Room Vin Diesel has taken a nose dive for the awfuly acted, and with movies like XXX, (and dare i even mention) Fast and the Furious under his belt, there is no end in sight. Apparetly, the more lines you give him the more he shows what a typical hollywood action actor he is. What a shame. With good 'drug kingpin' movies out there like Scarface they should be ashamed of themselves to try to break into this genre. thx SMR.

I thought he was great in Boiler Room, but after seeing his last 2 movies, (Fast and the Furious and XXX), I think I have a point. Granted, this movie is still in post production, but I seriously doubt that they are going or can do much with the plot -- and unless they are going to reshoot a good portion of the scenes, the bad acting will still be there as well. Although I've seen worse, lets just say this is not even as 'good' as XXX. And yes, you are correct with your statement, im sure its going to make a fortune...

did not think the movie was crap as i just saw it on the big screen last night it had a lot off good points and a few bad points but a good movie to start off the summer movie season.

I may be waaaay off-base, but....

haven't they done the "good cop has wife/family killed by bad guys and then goes on rampage" routine more than a few nauseating times already?

and didn't steven segal and jon claude dam dumb already do this ten years ago or longer?

more crap for the masses.
i am sure all the little 14-yo boys will be standing in line for this one...

Yeah A saw prescreen cut the other day, and as you stated it has "Hard to kill" written all over it. The cut I saw was in early form and needed some editing to make it succinct. In my cut we see what happens to the boss (Memo) at the end as he is getting transferred. The plot was so obvious as you say, but if they market it right, it will make some money. F. Gary Gray did negotiator ( a great film) and had the same ol corrupt police overtones, but ended make mad loot. I saw an early cut for that film, and didnt think it was that great, but when I saw the final cut, I was like damn. The same thing probably going with this movie as the producers stated that they want Gray to reshoot the ending, as I agree with them, as the final battle with Diablo should be a little bit more elaborate. But overall I give it a 6/10. Youre right about some of the acting by diesel, it seems he is losing his edge with these action movies. He just filling the role left by Arnold Swartzennger and will probably have the same type career, many movies, 10% of them actually good, the rest popcorn flicks that will be weak, but make money. Thats Hollywood and society for ya.

This is going to be pitiful. Vin Diesal is NOT a good actor. He is just like Stallone or Segal or Van Damm, THEY CANNOT ACT. This type of movie has been put out year after year and it will NOT succeed where others failed before it. I feel sorry for anyone who is going to waste money on this flick, if I wanted to see a gorilla I would watch Mighty Joe Young. If this makes movie, things won't be pretty.

While I can understand that many people hold different opinions about many actors it is generally more appropriate to provide justification with one's opinion than to ramble incoherantly. While I must agree that Steven Segal is not much of an actor, being mainly suited for niche roles, I cannot particularly agree with your opinion about Stallone and I must vehemently disagree with your opinion on Vin Diesel. While most of his roles may have not provided him with the opportunity to show his talent, the "Iron Giant" and "Multi-Facial" showed that he can be much more than just a buff "action star". I will respect your right to disagree however, it would be better to explain why than to provide the equivalent of, "Dude he sucks".

This film was really poor, same *beep* thats been done before a million times.. actually switched off midway because I couldn't take it anymore. I did end up watching it all the way through though and it doesn't get any better.. worse than XXX (if thats possible)

Yah but there is something i this movie that we have not yet seen before. Something that may provide a significant edge. Vin Deisel has, a goe-T! What's sad about this is that it will probably make mroe money because of it...America is so shallow-they wouldn't fall for this scam in England. I'm from MA, Boston by the way.

This was a bad action movie. the storyline was too common, wife killed by drug baron, revenge on drug baron, and I don't think vin diesel was good for that character. The action wasn't that great, it was dark and unclear. Vin Diesel keeps on starring in sh*t, there are a lot of strong, bald men out there, some might be handsome, but it's Diesel's deep booming voice that catches attention. but hey we can't do anything about it can't we Vin Diesel is very popular. I even this XXX is better and I give XXX a 2 out of 10.
