can someone tell me. why the guy blew up his own family. or was i missing the point. im sorry but it confused me. or was it just to make it so he could escape?

p.s. this has to be one of the worst films i have ever seen. the emotion was garbage. the plot has been done so many times. and did anyone else think silence of the lambs, with a guy?

first of all the movie did not suck the top reason why people say movies suck is because they did not get some parts of it but let me help you better understand, he blew up his family first to throw vin diesel off of thinking he is still responsible for killin his wife so he kills his family like a monster to trick vin diesel and like that guy said "if you want to take down a monster you must become a monster."

So if u don't know now ya know.

But seriously, why blow up your family to screw with a guy already in jail? It has to be the dumbest idea i have ever seen in a movie. It was freaking ridiculous. I got the movie, I just thought it was really lame. Maybe that's another reason for not liking a movie other than not understanding it. I understood it and I couldn't stop laughing at it.

that's a true villain...
he cut everyone off like that so he can start over w/ a clean slate
tyin' up the loose ends
he had the dough to get it done

Then why was he on the phone, (alone) and crying "You assured me they'd be safe" or something along those lines

reply

Every time Memo was on the phone in his cell they made a point of showing a guy up in the booth eavesdropping on the conversation. Memo KNEW his conversations were being recorded.

Let’s be logic. If I can recall correctly, the consequence of Memo’s family death is the approach of Seth which leads to Memo naming to the DEA Agent the small-time redneck dealer which allows Seth to climb the cartel stairs to “cut the loose ends” for Memo, as some of you put it, and ultimately, kill everybody.

Wouldn’t it be easier to Memo to name the guy in the first place soon after his arrest when he said he wasn’t Diablo? I mean, instead of just killing his family? Even if he is a villain and a drug lord, he surely doesn’t have a wife and a kid just because.

It seems to me that the family killing is just a cheap twist mechanism in the movie. Everything would have happened in the same way if Memo named the redneck dealer to Seth in the first place.

And by the way, can you point exactly the loose ends Memo was trying to fix from inside prison? Besides starting everything from ground zero? Killing everyone? Come on…

Yeah right… I try to give the movie a chance but I just can’t do it.

The filmmakers were trying to pull a Keyser Soze. Sadly, this film is not quite up there with The Usual Suspects.
