they use it in the movie, but its a non existant site, how come?

According to the Internet Archive, there WAS a site but they discontinued it in 2005 (the movie came out in 2002),

Actually, now that I load all the archived copies it looks like they never did anything with it -- it just said "Under Construction" the whole time.
