This movie attacked big media and other commercial interests. I've always wondered if there was any kind of backlash, or string-pulling to retaliate and possibly suppress it.

Zoolander was another movie that put a powerful industry on the spot. There was some critical reaction from that industry.

I don't think so. I just think the film was not everybody's cup of tea and it flopped. The film really never had a targeted audience either.

I think the film Idiocracy was stopped and muted because of commercial interests. I would'nt put Death to Smoochy in the same catergory.
