Jumanji: connection or coincidence?

Just wondering if someone thought up a rhino-motif as an homage to Robin Williams's Jumanji (1995), where his character was menaced most notably by a charging rhino, and even a rhino stampede, as I recall.

Had they cast Robin Williams before the writer, or whoever, decided on a rhino for Mopes's costume?

In the Trivia section, it says that in the original script the costume was orange. If they had decided a small detail like that, they must've decided on the fact that he would be rhino. Either way, JUMANJI isn't exactly a classic so writers can't afford allusions that are that subtle.

I say coincidence even yes Robin Williams is in both movies, and yes there are child actors in both of them, even if there is not a main character character in this movie, but the big differences between the two movies, is one movie is for kids and the other one isn't, and the other difference one movie Robin Williams plays a friendlier character then the other. Even through he does get a little mad in Jumanji.

Talk about grasping at straws. The rhino was like 0.01% of Jumanji. A few seconds screen time. It charged with a bunch of other animals, and was then forgotten. Now if it had been a Van Pelt costume, I would agree that there was a connection.
