Full color magazine cover?

Referencing the cabin party scene, wouldn't the magazine cover featuring Marion Davies be in b/w or tri-color? LIFE and TIME weren't even doing full-color covers in 1924. And didn't full color photography stem from motion pictures? Motion pictures in 1924 were obviously b/w. I think this is a production design error.

Right, Google search on "photoplay marion davies 1924" brings up tri-color covers from 1923 on. No way that Photoplay image with Kirsten Dunst as Marion Davies would have been feasible. The other covers were excellent. Odd oversight.
