Tom Ince is called a cripple in the film. How was he crippled? I didn't notice a portrayal of a limp, crutch, aid, etc. They mention several times his ulcers, but obviously that's not being crippled. The context was not that of 'wow his ulcers are really crippling', he was called a cripple by WRH I believe. Any help appreciated! Thamks! =)
shareIt was in the context of his discussion with WRH about the film industry. Ince is desperate to do business with Hearst. Hearst says he doesn’t need any help (making films) and if he did, he wouldn’t seek it from a cripple (in the film industry).
Later, Ince tells his friend what Hearst said. He also asks his lover if she thinks he’s a cripple in the film industry. He says he used to make 40 films a year and now he’s lucky if he makes one.
I am watching the DVD now,I did not know Ince brought his mistress. I thought his wife came along,but I could be mistaken. I was wondering about the cripple comment as well.
