My guess is 18. At least I doubt he was underage, but his mother obviously still saw him as a child (which, in a way, he was). Carolyn was probably 20-21, so there's nothing wrong with the age gap.

It's possible that Pumpkin's mom sees her kid as closer to his mental age than his physical age. Otherwise what she said didn't make much sense.

There has been several cases in court that deal with such things. Where they where being tried cause of the person mental age not there true age was that of a child and the other person was taking advantage of that. I'm sure that is what his mom was thinking when she said that.
