Couldn't Bill just make Sy go to counseling?

I don’t think Sy made enough money as a photo lab guy to afford counselling and since Bill isn’t the most generous person around, he wouldn’t pony up for it. Corporate certainly wasn’t going to go for it, either. It’s easier for Bill and the company to fire Sy.

Or maybe a suspension instead of going straight to firing.

It did seem a but extreme to do that to a guy who otherwise had a stellar record for several years. Then again, these sort of jobs shit on employees a lot.
