Why did Sy feel the need to threaten his ex-boss' daughter?

Sy took a whole bunch of pictures of her playing in her father's yard, after he sacked Sy, and Yoshi, Sy's replacement, brought the pictures to his ex-boss, who called the police.

What I don't get is why Sy would do this? I guess because he was fired by the man, Sy was telling him to "back off" or something, but it doesn't exactly help his case in the eyes of the viewer watching the movie. We know ultimately that Sy is not a pedophile or is actually willing to physically hurt anyone, but why feature that moment? Is it because Sy percieves being photographed "against his will" is pain enough? I suppose I can see it that way, so he passes it onto other people as a weapon.
