Verma family business

I thought it was a source of frustration for viewers of this film that though reference was made to Lalit being stressed about money throughout there was no evidence [in English, at least] of his business, if he had one, or how else he made his money.

Any hints from viewers who can understand the Punjabi or Hindi?

In the golf course scene (I think) he says that he has a shipment going to Macy's. A shipment of what, I don't know.

Indeed, dikrank. It isn't made clear in the movie. And I don't think it would have add value to this masterpiece if it was made clear.

Yes there is a reference when Lalit asks his friend to loan him some money, when asked when he would be in a position to pay it back he says "next month" and then says he has a "big shipment" going to Maceys (presumably in the US). I think you can derive from that that he is in the import/export business, which is huge in India. What he exports though is anyone's guess.
