Why did he have to show up so late in the movie? He was hot! I know it worked for the plot, but still, that man is seriously gorgeous. They could at least extended it 5 more mintues so we can see Umang and Ria meet.

Exactly! He's absolutely delicious. A sequel is definitely needed! Monsoon Wedding II, the wedding of Ria and Umang. (Also, an "accident" befalls the molesting "uncle"...)

Right after the engagement when the family is sitting around the table chatting, Ria says she is applying for a creative writing program in the US, upon which Shashi aunty says: "Saada (Our son) Umang is also there. We're hoping that Umang and Ria will like each other". Some moments later in the same sequence, when the light goes off, the phone is ringing and it's Umang.
Oh yes! A sequel would be great. I'd definitely see it. :)
