The guy tells him he was down in the water for about 15 minutes. Do you think he lived it as a fantasy all in that 15 minutes, or do you believe he was there but it translated into 15 minutes of real time? I don't want to think it was all a dream, or that he was just plugged in like in The Matrix (which initially disappointed me too, until I understood the story a little bit better) and he didn't live it personally.

I always figured that scene was thrown in to capitalize on the Gladiator fever everyone had from 2000 to 2002, or however long it was! I was actually gonna mention something about it in my first post to defend the possibility of it being real but I guess I found a way to wrap my thought up without it.
