Ending kind of ruined it

Haven't seen this movie in years, happened to catch it the other night. I thought the film was very well done. The acting was great, even from the bit players. But I thought the ending ruined it. It would've been so much better if they left it up to the viewers opinion whether or not Adam and his father really could see peoples sins.

The visions are critical. Otherwise all three of 'em are just psycho killers.

I think the ending was awesome. It shows that the dad wasn't crazy and he was really doing gods handy work.

I thought the ending was better because the visions turned out to be true. I was sitting there thinking it would be a predictable ending where the main character was just some delusional psycho.

I have to agree with the others in that the ending makes it much better, as the whole movie is leading us to believe it's a demonless world and its a big switcharoo.

Exactly untill the end it was about a psycho killer, showing visions were true turned movie in to all together in a differnt gener.
It would have been great to see how messed up their minds were and all the demon and god thing was a lie.

At first it was just ambiguous enough to not destroy it with me (I assumed the visions might have been meant to be from the devil or something that wasn't even alive, especially considering Fenton never did anything to deserve being killed) Then I found out Paxton said they really were from God and that Fenton grew up to be a serial killer, which is some of the biggest out of character bullsh-t I have ever seen. And in general ran into some seriously problematic implications.

Yeah, the ending ism movie-ruining
