Was anyone else offended by this movie?

I'll start off by saying that I thought this was a well shot, well acted film. I thought that it started off well. The backstory was suspensful and made you think "What if?".

The message that I got from the ending was that there really are demons and angels and that Adam and his father could see them. This is evident by the fact that as soon as Adam touched the agent, the agent could not defend himself and had succumbed to the "power of god", the fact that no one could see the faces on the tape, and could not recall Adam's face. Regardless of the fact of whether he and his father had made up the other backgrounds of the "demons", Adam was made to seem correct.

Is the director telling us that there are in fact, demons and angels? If so, this is not only unfulfilling and sanctimonious, but it is a real cheat for the script.

Please someone write whether I just got the wrong take on this movie and maybe I am incorrect, or if this what one was supposed to take this movie as...

I started out being offended by this movie while I was watching it, but the ending actually reverted that and made me become unoffended after all.

It's just a movie. It's called suspension of disbelief.

I think you missed the Literature lesson on symbolism.

PSSSST:
1. God did not "exterminate lesser beings"
2. Jesus did not "go around preaching all men are equal, love thy neighbor"
3. The concept of "love your neighbor" is incompatable with marxism.
4. The principles of Christianity are incompatable with fascism and marxism
which are two different ideologies BTW, they are not interchangable.
5. The US constitution was in fact based principles in the New Testament.

Your knowledge of history, theology and political ideology is so severely lacking that it would take years of education to correct. Meanwhile, as I read your last paragraph, it made me laugh, a shining example of "it's better to be silent and thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt"

As for the movie, it is merely a horror flick, a work of fiction. I'm a Christian and was not offended in the least. It wasn't intended to be making a political or theological statement anymore than The Shining, Rosemary's Baby or The Mist! If you watch it with the commentaries people, it is clear. If you simnply watch it a second time you will see may clues that things are not as they seem with Fenton. And the human was killed due to the devil's trickery, not G0d!

LOL! This is an old post but I'll respond anyway. The movie is telling us that these people may very well be demons & etc - IN THE MOVIE WORLD! You shouldn't base your beliefs off a horror movie, that would be very weak minded of you to do so. If you want, you can research on angels & demons, religion/spirituality/science, on superstitions/traditions, history/legends, your upbringing & experiences in life, talk to people if you want,...... & then, decide if you believe in angels & demons or not. Just because we watched Lord of the Rings does not convince me that there are elves or trolls of that nature now does it? I'm a Catholic & I do believe in angels & demons, but by the end of the film, I have a different interpretation of its events. I don't believe those people, as well as Fenton were demons. I believe that his father & Adam, had a special ability, to look into the past/future, to disrupt cameras, whatever you want to call it, & interpreted it as God & angels/demons, when in fact these were just people who did horrible things. I refuse to believe that Fenton was a demon all along, his experiences as a child, w/ his father may have lead him to become a serial killer, & his father saw into Fenton's future & interpreted it as demonic, when in fact it was HE who turned his son into one.

Why are you so easily offended by a movie? Are you offended by ghost/horror movies as well? What about Back to the Future? Aliens quadrology? Sheesh, get a little backbone will ya!
