That has bothered me about this show from Day One of its debut. The women are younger, AND hotter, than the guys; and I'm a straight guy and I still think it's creepy.

I *am* a woman, and I certainly care about looks very much - every woman does. And no amount of money is going to make up for a 30+ year difference. Especially since none of the women on the show are portrayed as gold-diggers.
I didn't say it doesn't matter at all but it is a known fact that men are more visual when it comes to their sexuality. For example men are more likely to watch porn while women are more likely to read erotic novels.
Another factor here might just be general success, power and influence rather than just the money in the bank. Some people are attracted to that so its not just a question of gold diggers or not.
And once again, none of that actually ever comes into play on the show.
One indication of that, btw, is how easily all those women drop them at the slightest transgression.

I am sure I am not making anything up. If you actually were successful, you wouldn't be thinking in these terms and ready to provide statistics on what women look for in a partner. That tells me that you are unsuccessful both financially and romantically.
And conversely, no one with this kind of outlook can be successful.

The show never makes the woman seem like they are in it for his money either, the ONLY thing that would make sense.
Even ignoring the age difference, the guy looks like a walking corpse and has the charisma of one. Makes no sense for anyone to want to date him if not for his money.
At least Richard Lewis is pleasant, even though in later seasons the poor guy looks like a corpse even more than Larry.

What's in it for the woman?
Money, experiences, contacts, career boosts, not having to have sex all the time.
I think men have a higher aggression level than women and want to be dominant,
and that works well because most women ( not all ) are not as aggressive in
romantic relationships. It fit for most of human history, but things are changing
now too. I think men are attracted to younger women, and most women are
attracted to older men ... not Larry David old, but older. It mimics their relationships
with the dads. I don't think younger men and older women are a parallel between
younger men and their mothers because that is a trespass against their fathers.
Anyway, mostly it is about fantasy, and men fantasize about having young women
who they can impress.
I won't get into the reasons, just point out that when you look at who wealthy, famous, high status are dating and marrying, it is not uncommon to see them with women younger than themselves by a fairly wide margin.
I'd say the show reflects reality in that way, again, without trying to explain why this is the case.
Hell, Tom Arnold, after he was divorced from Roseanne, married women much younger than himself. Even that level of fame was enough to get younger women interested.
Larry David married a woman almost 40 years younger, so there's some basis for it in reality. Some women will be interested in an older guy who is successful and that wealthy. Married to Larry, she has a certain lifestyle I'm sure she enjoys.
