i thought earlier this week i had seen the dumbest imdb post ever when someone claimed the new roland emmerich film was liberal b.s. pointed at making people "believe" in the farce of global warming. yeah, global warming and, uh, gravity too doesn't exist.
i was totally wrong, however, THIS is the dumbest thread ever.
also, if, in fact, it is inspired by kubrick or has kubrickian moments, i'm sure stanley would be extremely proud. this is a fantastic film almost as good as say, city of god or kubrick's own dr strangelove. i think paltrow's a great actress that will go down in history as the next, er, sally struthers.
i'm going to struggle to forget i ever read any comparison to good directors or actors with this king s**tbomb of films. paltrow can shampoo my f**king crotch . . .

Referring to the outfits the stewardesses in both movies wore and the fashion / cultural statement they were trying to make with the fashions, I would say there were some cribs of Kubrick in there.

Oh, yeah, it was almost a frame-for-frame duplicate!
