Carlitos way- Carlito a drug dealer trying to escape his drug past, he doesnt invite it, it just comes to him..he runs..it runs after him

same as this movie empire in a way

anyone agree?

Yeah - now that you mention it. It's also got the 1st person/narrative thing like Carlito's Way and the end is quite similar - even down to the arial view of him. I also think there's a bit of the style of Scorsese's Goodfellas thrown into the mix.
