...they have just made the new monsters fly with wings and not screw up the entire movie with making them fart fire?

The farting fire is taken from a real life creature, a certain type of beetle.

Besides, just making them fly is kind of plain. How many other movies have a monster farting fire?

What messed up this movie for me was weak writing for Desert Jack and Jodi.

But that's extremely stupid and ruins the future for any good Tremor movies. Even though I did think part 2 was better.

Yes but it also wouldn't have made the movie completely retarded.
