if anyone has seen king of the hill....do you think they based dales character off of burt gummer?

Burt is a heck of a lot braver than Dale, but they do have some similarities, like having supply stock piles in their basements and what not.

I guess certain aspects of Bert could be seen in Dale. But, Bert is really smart and cool. Dale, well, uh, isn't. I suppose Bert's paranoid side about the government, if overstated, could seem like Dale. And the affliction for weapons and bombs. But, Dale is sort of...let's face it, an idiot. Funny to watch, but an idiot none the less.

More likely they're just based off the same stereotype, but it is a possibility.

Possibly maybe also probably.

Mike Judge has come out and said Dale is based on Robert Patrick, he's best known as the villain T1000 in Terminator 2.

So nope.

There's definitely some similarities between the two, but Gummer is a little more knowledgeable than Dale. Plus Dale believes in all kinds of conspiracies, whereas Burt just seems suspicious of the government.

Plus Burt is a survivalist as well. There's also how when Burt comes up with a plan, it generally works whereas Dale's plans tend to collapse on themselves (albeit for humorous effect).

Can't be too careful with all those weirdos running around.

Are you saying that Nancy is cheating on Dale?
Are you saying Burt's wife left Burt and before that was cheating on Burt?
