How did jason manage to find marie at the end ?
Maybe i missed something ? Thanks.
shareAs a deep cover operative/assassin, he's been trained to track people across countries...by the end of the movie its pretty clear he's recovered all knowledge of his training as a Treadstone operative, so it wouldn't have been too difficult for him to find Marie.
shareYep, seemed fairly obvious to me, he was trained to track people who themselves were trained to cover their tracks, if he can find them he can find a regular citizen.

I am not 100% sure, but I think its the Greek island of Corfu she is on... and if you look closely in the car scene she is talking about when she owned a surf shop and how it was the greatest time of her life... also she is wearing a t-shirt that says "Corfu" (i think), so Jason probably put one and one together when trying to find her!
shareLooked like Santorini to me? I know it's hard to distinguish one Aegean island to the next, but I swear I saw the characteristic horseshoe shape of the island, aswell as the clifftop buildings.

Always wanted to go there regardless. :)
Like I said, I am not sure, but it is one of the Greek Islands and I am sure that the car scene on route to Paris was put in to give some idea about how he found her.
shareWatched the movie again, and she is wearing a black "Corfu" t-shirt just after the love scene when she gets out of bed jokes about foot prints to Jason.
So I think Jason is suppose to have taken these hints about Greece in and has searched the Greek islands for her.
Marie's scooter shop is actually a restaurant on the Greek island of Mykonos. The shot leading up to Jason finding Marie is from the west heading east over the chapel at Agios Georgios. If you take a look at Google Maps, search for Mykonos and then zoom in on the windmills on the south side of town. Marie's shop is just below them on the water. BTW, Google Maps shows the town's name as Mykonos but that is actually the island's name. The town is called Hora.
We spend our summers on the island and know it well.
Sea Satin Market, Mykonos Greece
shareThis is, of course, the great emotional scene of the movie. The audience response is one of a great pleasure that these two characters, who had lived through so much harrowing, nightmarish things, would connect once again, away from the madness in that beautiful place at the edge of the Aegean. It was funny and sweet. Funny? Sure: "Do you have ID?", she asks before seeing who is asking if he can rent a scooter.
Bourne replies "Mmm . . . not really." From the guy who found 6 different passports in that safe deposit box AND who didn't know who he was.
That may have been the most carefully-written scene in the script.
in the car scene she is talking about when she owned a surf shop and how it was the greatest time of her life...
For someone like him it wouldn't be too difficult lets say.
shareIt's filmed on the Island of Mykonos.
Just type "Mykonos, Bourne Identity" into a Google search and you will see it.
As for how he found Marie... 3 possible answers, any are credible
1.) He went back to Eammon to get a lead as he was the last person to see her. Although I find it unlikely that Jason would want to bother him again after their last encounter. He cares too much for the children to upset them by showing up again.
2) During Jason and Marie's time together, she probably mentioned where and what she would do if she could start a new life...?
3) Jason Bourne is a highly trained and smart, individual. The world is too small a place to hide, to run a business, bills have to be paid and names have to be listed. Marie could therefore be found more easily.
Anyone else notice the red Swiss bank bag that Jason gave to Marie was hanging up in her shop, now being used as a flower basket? I thought perhaps she kept it in a prominent location, just in case he would someday show up, recognize it, and know for sure she was the owner (in case she was out and they didn't connect right away).
Auto-Tune is not a genre, please stop treating it as such.
I thought I was the only one who noticed that. I actually thought it meant Jason Bourne had already found her and that he was going to walk out from a back room with a dish bin or a tool box to fix the scooter!

It is never explained, and I don't really know why it should. By that point in the movie, you accept this guy is a super spy. He knew what her dream was and tracked her down. How exactly that happened is quite irrelevant.
shareI have an "extended version" with exta scenes at the beginning and end. It started with Jason asking some people at a little port if they've seen Marie. He's looking at the water when he turns around and sees all the people have disappeared. He looks at the drink in his hand, realizes he's been drugged and falls to the ground. Thats where the regular movie starts.
At the end, aftter Jason tells Conklin he's quitting the extra scene starts. Jason wakes up in some hostel looking room. Abbott is there and says they've been following him. Abbott offers Jason a job doing individual projects with big paychecks but he doesn't have to be full time. Jason asks what if he says no, abbott says "then you say no" which I guess is supposed to mean he'll be left alone but we know that doesn't happen.
Abbott says they've been watching Marie and gives Jason her info. He says if he hurries he can catch her at closing time. The next scene is Marie starting to clean up her little patio when she sees Jason walking toward her. They don't say anything, just kiss and hug and the movie ends.
The movie doesn't show or say. But Bourne does say she was hard to track down. And being a "30 million dollar" weapon, I am sure he has the skills to track pretty much anybody down if he wants too. Unless they have absolutely no contacts, a fake alias, etc... unless they too are trained in hiding.
shareAs scooter rentals go, she might have picked a less conspicuous location than smack-dab in the center of one of the Mediterranean's biggest tourist traps. As the camera pulls away from the khora we see she's even next door to the iconic windmills seen in almost every postcard of Mykonos ever printed.
And then there's the T-shirt. Jason has an eidetic memory, so he's gonna remember the T-shirt.
Quite simply, he was trained to find people and she was NOT trained to not be found.
