The actor chosen to play the role of the son. Don't get me wrong, it not like there was a lot of material to work with. But his acting skills, the over dramatic seizure scene, pointing the gun at the bad guy, etc... Just wasn't buying it. Looked like he was a bit effeminate also.

shareI have this movie on VHS and she did look remarkably like Jodie Foster at that time. Maybe that's why she was selected to play the part. The only other movie I saw Kristen Stewart in was 'The Runaways' and she didn't look anything like the character she played in 'Panic Room.' In that movie she did look remarkably like Joan Jett, though.

It was because she was a little kid at the time, with absolutely zero sex characteristics and looked very ambiguous.
She was also a nobody when it came out in 2002, it wasn't like "OMG it's Kristen Stewart playing Jodie Foster's kid, amazing, she was so great in _____________!"
