Did all the bonds get blown away and disappear? What if someone on the street were to find a few of them...would they be able to cash them in?

The bonds were safely in Burnham's jacket. They never left his jacket. He got away scot free.

I have to admit, I wondered that, too. I think they were as good as cash, so yes I think someone finding one could cash it in.

I don't think you can cash those bonds once they are torn appart by a storm.
