Picky, Picky, Picky!

There are a lot worse movies than Kangaroo Jack. Just go watch one of Madonna's recent movies, or better yet, that movie Glitter with Mariah Carey. The point of the movie Kangaroo Jack was to have the audience laughing and give them something to watch for their $5. By the way, if you paid more to see this movie, than you obviously expected too much, thus your disappointment. Kangaroo Jack wasn't made to be a classic like Jaws or Gone With The Wind, so why pay more than a matinee price to see it?

I myself laughed just a little bit with the movie, since most of the jokes have already been done. But this movie had silly humor that most adults wouldn't understand. Silly humor that kids - that's right, KIDS - would understand and enjoy.

Are you surprised that this movie is still in the top 5 nearly a month after it's release? Well I'm surprised a piece of garbage like Titanic (not the ship, the movie) is listed as #1. Nothing like profiting off a tragedy James Cameron. At least Kangaroo Jack keeps it simple, and I doubt any kangaroos were offended by the making of this movie. But give all the complaints a rest folks. Things happen in mysterious ways. We have an idiot in the White House, a guy on tv who does nothing but berates wannabe singers, and Kangaroo Jack with a rating under 3/10, yet still in the top 5 in the box office. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world!

I took my kids and expected to suffer through a painful hour and a half, but it wasn't so bad. Maybe because my expectations were so low. I had a couple chuckles and suprised to learn that a movie promo can actually make a movie look worse than it is. It was no "citizen kane" but was worth the $5 ticket. That's more than I can say for the $9 popcorn!!
