Cliche
This is one of my favorite movies, and one of my very favorite things about it is the conscious, deliberate use of cliche in the script. Almost every character (and particularly Warren) has catchphrases for every occasion that are absolute cliches "Quite an item!", "You've got bigger fish to fry". A fun touch to help sell the banality and uselessness Warren feels about his life.
