Didn't like it but it was still really good
However I'm giving this film an 8/10, because it was actually VERY good, I just didn't like it. The visuals are wonderful, Nicholson's performance is very realistic and honest, Kathy Bates is feisty and sexy. Overall, it's a wonderful film. What I don't like about it is how depressing it is. But thinking about it, maybe that's how it really is when you get to be Shmidt's age and after you've lost almost anything. In a way though, it's optimistic as well. He finds something to hold onto, someone who wants to talk to him and make him feel like he still has some use at his age. It's a very good film, just really depressing.
