7/10. Here's why:


For the most part, ABOUT SCHMIDT is an interesting and quiet character study with a lot of funny black humour. When the title character travels to his daughter's wedding, it becomes completely about the comedy. It's hard to tell because the humour remains the same. It's a flaw because you can't change tones like that. Plus, the messages at the end couldn't be truly deep because they were more straightforward than Roseanne Barr's tweets. WARREN SCHMIDT may be a wrinkled schmuck (see what I did there?), but Jack Nicholson's performance is excellent.
