Some of the most subtle comedic moments ever...

- Warren ordering the blizzard at Dairy Queen - he orders Reese's Pieces and Cookie Dough (so incredibly unhealthy), and then he settles upon a sized Medium, as if that's a fair compromise, even though he knows he shouldn't be eating it.

- Warren tearing away from the RV park after coming on to Mrs. Rusk. As he roars past her husband John, who has stepped out to get more beer, Mr Rusk gives Schmidt a saddened half-wave, thinking "what the hell happened?"

- While at the Hertzel home (Kathy Bates), Warren looks out the window to see a shirtless neighbor walking out the front door with a Hefty bag full of trash. He steps outside, throws the trash bag into a pile of others in the front yard, and stumbles back inside. I can only imagine that was his way of saying "F@ck you!" to his wife who was nagging him about taking out the trash, or he simply doesn't give a $hit.

- Warren's letter to Ndugu about how the Native Americans "got a raw deal". His naivety about how how Native Americans were butchered and robbed is priceless.

- The dinner table scene at the Hertzel home. So many great subtle moments.

- Duncan's face at the wedding reception.

Alexander Payne is a genius.

So many more. Love this film.

Add to this -

Warren's face when Roberta mentions her hysterectomy, and also when she praises Randall and Jeannie's sexual life.

Warren on the waterbed.

Warren's face when Kathy Bates asks if he has anything for her in his bedpan. (Just before feeding him soup!)

reply

"That item you showed me, very artistic."

hahahaha genius. And made all the more hilarious by the perfect deliver of Mr Nicholson

reply

Yeah feeding him soup and all the while giving him an in depth analysis of his Daughter's and her Son's sex life...hahahaha

I always laugh at Jack/Warren's expression when he sees that his childhood home is now a tire store.

Got 13 Channels of $hit on the TV to Choose From

I liked Warren shaving in what was obviously Randall's boyhood room. The mother had proudly displayed all of Randall's ribbons all saying "Participant".

Yes this and the framed certificate stating that he had attended a college short course for 2 weeks...wow....hahahaha this whole scene made me laugh

Yes so many very funny but extremely subtle moments in this great movie.

I loved the intro of Randall and the place he worked...."Waterbeds and More" What "more" could there possibly be, I chuckled to myself? Added to that his moustache and pony tail...wow pure comedic touches.

Many funny moments arise when he ends up at Roberta's house with that side of the family as mentioned above.

The film is a very rare thing, one that perfectly balanced laughs with a genuine amount of drama.

Randall almost stole the movie. They broke the mold. They broke the mold.

hahah yes that is a crackin line too. Also when he takes a photo of Warren and Jeanie hugging at the airport when she is about to leave to go back to Denver. He says something like "Great shot" hahaha wearing some dodgy Polar bear sweater too.
