Why I disliked this film

I haven't seen it since that day in 2003, when I saw it in the theatre, but I remember feeling very short-changed by this film. It was advertised to look like the movie is about a Swat team that has to contend with street gangs, mafioso, and all kinds of assorted criminals, who seek to free the French dude from custody for the 100 million dollars.

That sounds like a fun movie! What we got instead was a boring training film, with a very anti-climactic final act. I remember the end of the movie being very uninteresting. Also, it couldn't even be a real action movie.

In all good action films, the main bad guy spends the entire film doing bad things and making you want to see him get his comeuppance. In great action films (T2, Die Hard, Speed, True Lies, etc), their comeuppance is vicious. In this film, if I remember right, the dude just gets rearrested and sent back to jail!

LAME!!!!

@SeasonalAffective I don't dislike the movie, but the plane hijack training scene should've been ditched. And using suspenseful music during that sequence when it was just a training exercise? Silly.

Good point about the villain's non-demise. He's still got that $100 million reward for his escape - the Feds probably just drove him straight out, lol.
