Pick up the book STORY OF A SECRET STATE by Jan Karski. It's an incredibly detailed true story about one man in the Polish resistance. Very exciting and informative. It's a puzzle why it has never been made into a movie. It's just as powerful as The Pianist. A must read if you're interested in WW2.

Some great choices. I'd add Relief of Belsen, and the miniseries Holocaust.

Another great miniseries is the German language Generation War; one of the characters is a very young Jewish man trying to evade capture.
