What is this movie about? Is Hopkins an Alien? is an Angel? is a Person from the future?
This movie make no sense but yet it's so beautiful looking and has mysterious moments shuffled in-between.
His character has a type of E.S.P.
(Extra Sensory Perception).
Why is being wanted and on the run? Why then are the dark suit figures trying to kidnap him?
It's such a beautiful looking film but it's so vague.
Near the end we see a grown up version of the title character, David Morse talking and reflecting.
This a mix of Stand By Me + IT + The Green Mile.
It has so many mysterious moments (the carnival, the bullies on bikes scene)...but at the same time it's a dark movie (that mother's poor soul).
My guess is that the character used his power for illegal purposes at one point in his life, a government agency found out about it, and now is forced to work for the agency.
Or
He volunteered to help the government at one point in his life, got tired of using his powers for them and fled. The government deemed him too dangerous and important figure to be free man.
