I don't know if it was the hatchet job they did on the video, or the fact moved it to the LA Sports Arena, but it didn't sit well with me.

It did have a few good matches like Warrior-Savage, but Demolition jobbing two Tenryu and Kitao??? Crazy, man.

I bought this in a twin pack with WM 8, and i think it got cut. I remember the boss man-mr perfect match going on longer than that. A move i remember is boss man sitting in the ring. Mr perfect grabs his head and flips over him, wrenching his neck, and monsoon says "you just don't bend that way". But that part isn't in the match. Are all Wrestlemania 7 dvd's like this?

reply

Also, demolition and tenryu and kitao's entrances are cut, and so is the start of the earthquake-greg valentine match.

reply

Everything in the videos is cut. Matches, entrence music, you name it. Commentary was also changed around so it would play better in the video. There was also things added into the video ("Exclusive, Never Seen Before Coverage").

In the new Wrestlemania Anothology DVDs, everything (just about) is in its entirety (The only thing I find is Piper's Pit at WM V edited). The commentary you hear on the DVDs is the original commentary. Some of the entrence music has been altered since they couldn't (or didn't want to) get permission from the people who owned the rights to the song.

I loved it! Ultimate Warrior/Randy Savage is one of my top 10 WWE matches of all time, and I found Sensational Sherri entertaining and hilarious, and then the perfect ending with Savage and Elizabeth reuniting much to the fans delight.

This event saved wrestling and this was the best Wrestlemania ever because we got to see Hulkamania destroy that no good traitor Sgt Slaughter. I never forgave him for turning his back on America. But if Slaughter was able to beat Hogan, he would have went to Iraq with the world title and do photo ops with Saddam Hussein and this would be a huge embarrassment for the WWE. Not to mention it could have weakened our morale and who knows how the Gulf War would have ended

reply

You know it's not real, right?

reply

It became scripted for the Attitude era which began sometime in 1997 I believe

reply

Is that a joke? Pro wrestling has been scripted since at least the 1930s, i.e., for longer than most people have been alive.

reply

Not so sure about that. I recall the days of Hulkamania in the 80s and that appeared to be legit, especially when he beat the hated Iron Sheik from Iran for the title.

reply

"Not so sure about that."

The rest of the world is sure about it, including the pro wrestlers themselves, which you can hear all about if you listen to interviews with them. On top of that, it's blatantly obvious just from watching that the wrestlers are cooperating with each other.

"I recall the days of Hulkamania in the 80s and that appeared to be legit"

If it appeared to be "legit" to you then you have a poor grasp of the nature of reality.

"especially when he beat the hated Iron Sheik from Iran for the title."

Good grief. Vince McMahon, after he bought the WWF from his father, wanted Hulk Hogan to be champion, because he thought the then-current chamption, Bob Backlund, was boring. Backlund refused to drop the title to Hogan because he didn't believe that Hogan had any real wrestling skills, but he agreed to drop the title to the Iron Sheik because he had real wrestling skills (he competed in the 1968 Olympics, and was the gold medalist at the 1971 AAU Greco-Roman wrestling event). Then, shortly thereafter, Vince McMahon got the Iron Sheik to agree to drop the title to Hogan.

The Iron Sheik often asks people if they really think Hogan could beat him in a fair fight. Hogan wouldn't have stood a chance again the Iron Sheik, who was a legitimate, world-class wrestler, in a real wrestling match.

Thanks for clarifying.
