Paradox?

Ok, all you people are critisising this movie and lamenting the fact that people pay money to watch this. But surely you must have done exactly that to be able to critisise it?

But then how would anybody apart from critics be able to critisise a film on its cinema release without paying to see it? But why did you see it? From the signs (convoluted plot, Jennifer Lopez vehicle) it didn't look very good anyway.

But I wouldn't know as I haven't seen it.

I didn't see the movie but I'm sure it sucks, the rule of thumb is
sucky actress= sucky movie
and if sucky actress have made sucky movie in the past then the suckyness carrys over

in this case it's sucky over the power of 4 suckys

I've not paid to see this movie, and the sooner jen lo j lopex j hahahah

I went to see this this film but I didn't pay to get in. I'm 20 years old and a bit of a movie buff and as part of workwise I managed to get a placement writing film reviews for a local paper and because I have to go every week I get a pass to get free admission.

What did I think of the film?

A classic tale told in the modern world. A hotel maid and a senatorial candidate meet and fall in love. There is one big problem though – he thinks she is a guest in the hotel not a maid. What will happen if he discovers the truth?

This is tearjerker with a twist of comedy thrown in for good measure. If romantic comedies are your thing get down and see it. If not you might find it a bit slow but it’s worth a go.

Directed by Wayne Wang. Running time is 105 minutes and the cast includes Jennifer Lopez; Ralph Fiennes; and Bob Hoskins.

This is the review I did for the paper.

You're right. It didn't look very good and under normal circumstances I wouldn't go within shouting distance of this movie but there are reasons why people will see it.

Some people hope against hope that it won't be another hollywood romance-by-numbers and might actually be original, romantic and entertaining, some people have seen everything else that was out that week and can't be bothered to rent a DVD, and SOME PEOPLE get dragged to it by their girlfriends.

J-Lo was good in Out of Sight and Blood and Wine but I've yet to see her do anything to justify her stardom (and yes I am including her singing career)but some people will go and see it just for her and her 'assets'.

Sad, but true.
