Why would you release this in October?
It's a Christmas-themed film. Why wouldn't you at least wait until the end of November. Makes about as much sense as releasing those awful Rob Zombie HALLOWEEN films in August as opposed to October.
shareThey released A CHRISTMAS CAROL at the BEGINNING of November, which I found baffling. Studios do *beep* like that all the time - because they can. They have an empty spot on the calendar and they just insert a random movie.
Very simple. I worked at a theatre for a long time and they always release the movies they do not expect to do well in March to before Memorial Day and after Labor day to before Thanksgiving. This way they will not have to compete with bigger movies.
