Execution of the deputy scene was "a thing of beauty"

Are there flaws in Rob Zombies breakout film House Of 1,000 Corpses ?
Sure there are plenty..
However the scene when the heroines father and the deputy played superbly by Walter Goggins come upon the work shed and open the doors to hell of brother "Otis" workshop/playroom to find the mutilated "missing cheerleaders" and then fall prey to Otis as the father is shot in the back and the cowardly deputy who moments before was full of authority & swagger got on his knees to beg for his life all the while being played out to Slim Whitmans "I Remember You".... this was pure genius..the hesitation as Goggins is on his knees as Otis has his weapon leveled on him and drags the moment out before he fires was pitch perfect..
Zombie made his share of mistakes in his debut but this was the scene that in my opinion proved that he had something to offer the horror genre...

This is without a doubt my most favorite scene of this movie. It's unforgettable. I remember just cringing in the movie theater waiting for the shot to happen

Yeah it felt like forever, I thought it played almost like a sacrifice to the audience in the end!
