Has anyone every seen a baseball picture of Roger Maris? I just saw one and I could not beleive how much Barry Pepper looked like Roger Maris

Both Barry Pepper and Thomas Jane both look very similar to Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle, they did a great job finding actors who looked like them and probably the best matches.

It is definitely creepy how much Pepper looks like Maris. Jane doesn't look as much like Mantle, but there are moments, especially in profile, where he looks incredibly authentic. It's really amazing considering Jane claims to have never picked up a baseball bat before doing this film.

Wish they could have found a better Yogi lookalike, but Jane and Pepper were indeed uncannily like Mantle & Maris.

The first film I saw Barry Pepper in was Saving Private Ryan. In his first scene on the LCM, I leaned over and whispered to my wife, "That dude looks just like Roger Maris."

I flipped when I was watching HBO a few years later to see that Billy Crystal was making a movie about the '61 season staring Barry Pepper.

The first time I saw Barry Pepper was in trailers for 61*. And I actually said out loud, "That guy looks so much like Maris, it's scary."

I should watch that movie again; it's been a while.
