I'm a youngin, only 21. My team is the Jays and honestly the first sports moment i remember seeing live is Joe Carter hitting off the walk off in the 93 series. The second moment i remember is Messier lifting the cup for the Rangers. But my all time favourite player to watch would be Vlad, i watched a huge amount of Expos games as I'm a Canadian and he was my favourite to watch. Dead player that I love though is Ty Cobb, the guy was a savage as far as i've read. And Currently David Ortiz is a player i will always watch when he comes to the dish.
sharemy favorite team Chicago Cubs-and yes, i'm always cryin'
my favorite all-time ball player-Buckey Weaver-from the 1919 black Sox
" Were paratroopers Lt.,were supposed to
be surrounded." Cpt. Winters
I'd say either Rickey Henderson, Cal Ripken, Dave Parker, or Vladimir Guerrero would be my favorites (living). Of course, I used to love the big homer-hitting guys growing up, like Cecil Fielder, McGwire, and Canseco too.
Vlad's definitely my favorite active player. He never hits under .300 (11 straight seasons over .300, just 12 more seasons to tie Ty Cobb's record!), oodles of rbi's and good runs and homerun counts.
As for a dead player, I'd have to just look at their career stats.
Actually, Kirby Puckett was one of my favorites growing up too, he'd be my #1 choice for a deceased player.
Oh, my favorite team, the Detroit Tigers. I was alive when they won their most recent World Series in '84 (I was about to turn 6).

My favorite team is the Cincinnati Reds. Favorite all time player, none other than Cincinnati's favorite son, Charlie Hustle himself future hall of famer Peter Edward Rose!
shareAnother Reds fan here, and while Pete Rose was a special player that every Cincy fan loves, it's Johnny Bench for me. Just so happens that I've given both men a handshake and told them I appreciated the way they played the game. Wouldn't invite either one to dinner, though. Given the opportunity, I'd want to spend a few hours with Tony Perez. Hey, we can all dream!
shareSpeaking of inviting them to dinner; I met Pete once when I was working my way though school as a waiter. He was a great guy and a great tipper. When you wait tables you get to see people as they really are. He was alot shorter than his baseball card said though, lol.
shareGreat taste in baseball. Go redlegs
Lawrence of Arbia, he was an English guy who came to fight the Turkish
I am a Pirates fan. Yes, at one time we were a team to be reckoned with (1960!). My favorite player has always been Roberto Clemente.
"What we need here is more cowbell!"...Christopher Walken
My two favorite players? Buck O'Neil and Ernie Banks, both for the same reason. They are positive in their thoughts and actions, and are gracious to people. I would like to be more like them.
Rest in Peace, Buck. We love you.
Buck O'Neil and Ernie Banks two of the all-time gentleman of the game and two great players. Very sad that O'Neil did not get in the HoF before he passed away. IMHO, I think the HoF is pretty crazy in terms of some very deserving players, managers that they've not let and and others less deserving that do get in.
shareMy Favortie Team is the St. Louis Cardinals.
My Favorite Baseball player was Fernando Vina. Trust me you guys probably never heard of him. But really i admire non other then Stan the Man Musial!
also P.S. pamurchu Roberto Clemente is the Best Right fielder to ever play the game. No body had a better arm then that man. Hell don't even think about running to third, that bastard will gun you down.
My favorite team is the Florida Marlins since I live in Miami and my favorite active player has to be Alex Rodriguez. Yes, I'm the first to admit that his astronomical salary is an exaggerated amount but even those who hate him have to admit that the man has it all, power, speed, great fielding ability and incredible contact with the ball. The guy is only 32 years old and he already has 536 home runs to his credit. But all time I'd have to say is a tie between Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb. Ruth for his raw power and undeniable ability and charisma and Cobb simply because he was a surgeon with a baseball bat, hitting for a career .367 batting average and a batting average over .300 for 23 consecutive seasons.
